't Gebed Zonder Eind... in Ghent
12/11/10 - 20/11/10

During the 5th Week of taste, the Ghent concert cafe 't Gebed zonder eind worked with the Cultural Service of the Polish Embassy as part of the Expatatas project. A typical dish from Poland was offered to gourmets from Flanders and further afield: placki ziemniaczane, or potato pancakes, served with a kind of goulash.
For those who enjoy a challenge and like to experiment with other culinary traditions, the event, held between 12 and 20 November in the heart of Ghent, at 't Gebed zonder eind (next to the Minardschouwburg) was an absolute must.
Those who came to try the placki were well-rewarded, as a little surprise was in store...
To discover the many ways potatoes are used in the 27 Member States of the European Union, just visit the Expatatas site or EUTrio.be, the site of the Belgian presidency of the European Union.
The Flemish government supports the Week of taste. The Week of taste was coordinated by Faro, the Flemish interface centre for cultural heritage.
The Cultural Service of the Polish Embassy would like to say a special thank you to Dini and Roger from 't Gebed zonder eind, without whose help and enthusiasm the project would not have been possible.
